1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Juice of 4 to 6 lemons
1 cup fresh strawberries
In a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, add sugar to the water and cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens slightly.
Using a juicer, extract one cup of juice from the lemons. Place the strawberries in a blender or food processor and puree.
In a 2-quart pitcher, stir together sugar syrup, lemon juice, strawberry puree and enough water to fill the pitcher. Refrigerate at least 45 minutes before serving. Serve over ice in tall glasses. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
