Terms and Conditions
This is for the friendly and clean exchange of recipes
and ideas about Southern cooking. Since there are a bazillion non-Southern cooking sites out there with message boards, please limit your postings to ones about Southern cooking, recipes, and culture.
There are a few other rules we’ve set to keep things neighborly
and to keep our legal advisors, the respected Memphis law firm of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe happy, so without further ado:
By posting, you agree to these terms and conditions and that
you will not post messages that:
- Put down, threaten, or just plain talk bad about a group of people such as a race, color, national origin, handicap, or sexual
orientation.
- Have nothing to do with home cooking or Southern culture.
- Are annoying or just plain illegal, including chain letters and pyramid schemes.
- Refer people to other sites for the main purpose of increasing traffic to those sites or so you can get points and/or money.
- Are sexually vulgar or solicit sexually explicit photographs or text from others, or link to or refer people to such sites. There
are a gazillion porno sites out there- go visit them if that¹s what you’re looking for.
- Try to pass yourself off as me or an authorized representative of chefrick.com.
- List a phone number or address.
- Post any recipes or other material
that you don't have the right to postunder US Copyright law. (You acknowledge that the recipes you are submitting to chefrick.com are your own recipes and have not been copied from someone else or from a cookbook.)
Advertisement--even of good causes and non-profit events--is
not permitted. Messages containing sales pitches, hype, or come-ons will be deleted. If your case is exceptional, email us for permission before posting.
If you know a way to get rich quick, we'd suggest you simply DO
it rather than waste time selling the secret to others. In any case, spare us the pitch.
PLEASE NOTE...
We will remove any post that violates the above rules so fast it will make you dizzy.
chefrick.com reserves the right to republish the material
contributed by our readers. By posting to our message boards, you expressly grant the right to chefrick.com to republish the content in any form. We'll make every attempt to provide proper attribution to
the author for any post we republish.
The views expressed in posts on this message board are those of
the person who posted it and do not necessarily reflect the views of chefrick.com, any of our staff, or What’s Cooking Food Writing.
You may not use this board to buy and sell stuff or to post
classified ads. There are boards out there for that purpose already. Any posts of this type will be removed.
The recipes on this board are those of the folks who post
them, and any questions about those recipes should be directed to the folks who posted them and not to Chef Rick.
You agree that chefrick.com, What’s Cooking Food Writing, and
Rick McDaniel will not be held liable for direct, indirect, incidental or any other type of damages resulting from your use of any content on our site.
A few words about safety and privacy
There are strange, mean, and downright dangerous folks out
there. Just like they’re probably not looking in your window, they’re PROBABLY not looking at this board, but for your own safety, be careful. Never give out personal information on this board such as
addresses, phone numbers, and so forth.
If you do, the message will be deleted, but probably not before
the person you wanted to get the information gets it, along with a few dozen people you didn’t want to have it. Neither Chef Rick nor anyone connected in any way
with chefrick.com, What’s Cooking Food Writing, or any person
or company in any way connected with this site will ever ask you for any personal information.
A word about your e-mail address
Posting your e-mail address on the message board is
optional. We will never give, rent, loan, or sell your e-mail address to another company or individual. You should know before putting it on the message board that there are little critters called
robots that crawl the web looking for e-mail addresses on message boards to add to junk e-mail lists.
If you see anyone violating these rules, please let us know so we can set things right.
