Welcome to my bookstore! This is a place where you’ll find my recommendations for the best books on Southern, Cajun, soul food and Low Country cooking. Click on the links below to see the books I recommend in each category. If you click on the book¹s title, it will take you to amazon.com, where you can safely and securely buy the book. You get the same fast service and low price from Amazon, and I get a little bit of their profit to help buy those Ginsu knives I’ve always wanted! Enjoy your stay and I hope you find that book you¹ve been looking for.

Just browse for now, if you like. When you decide to place an order, clicking back through chefrick.com would be most appreciated. That keeps my bookstore in business for you to enjoy.

We’ve divided the store up into sections to make browsing easier. Click on a category below, or browse all the way through by [clicking here].

Cajun and Creole -- These are the best books available on the cuisine of Louisiana. Here you’ll find recipes as old as New Orleans and as new as the freshest chefs can make them.

Emeril Lagassee -- You’ve seen him on TV, now read the books! Emeril is one of the hottest chefs in the country, and his kicked-up cooking style will put a little “BAM!” on your table.

Southern Heritage Cookbooks -- These books contain recipes from the late 1800s that will put you in touch with the true heritage of Southern cooking.

Low Country Cookbooks -- The Low Country is the coastal plain around Charleston and Savannah. The cuisine there blends rice with the ever abundant seafood to give a mix of flavor you won’t find anywhere else on the planet.

Mountain Cookbooks -- My home is in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, not far from Tennessee. This region has a rich heritage of cooking which has changed little from the days of the earliest pioneers. Simple but delicious and hearty recipes are featured in these books.

North Carolina Cookbooks -- From the mountains to the sea, North Carolina has some of the best eating of any state in the South. From the country ham and fried trout in the Smokies to the shrimp and scallops on the Outer Banks, you’ll love our home-grown flavors.

Soul Food Cookbooks -- African-Americans have made a huge contribution to what has become Southern cooking. These books explore the influence of African and Caribbean influences on our food. They all feature wonderful recipes, some of them passed down for several generations.

Southern Cooking -- These books are the best available on Southern cooking. They all feature terrific recipes and will be treasured by your family.

Healthy Southern Cooking -- These books are all highly recommended for anyone who loves Southern cooking but needs to cut calories or fat. The diabetic cookbooks are especially good, even if you don’t have diabetes.
