This is a famous southern dessert. This recipe is so fine it substitutes for birthday cake for Betty’s son. Try it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to “cut the sweetness.”
1/2 cup Melted butter (Or margarine)
2 cups Light brown sugar
1/2 Cup Milk
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon Flour (Self- rising)
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Pecans(Chopped)
Melt butter then add brown sugar, milk, eggs, flour, and vanilla and blend with mixer.( I dump everything in one right behind the other.) Add Pecans as the last thing and lay pecan halves around on top.
This makes one large pie shell full or you can make one and one-half times the recipe and do two regular pie shells.
Bake @300 degrees for one hour or until crusty on the top.
